The quest for getting healthier via the Kinect continues in this week's installment in which we take a look at some of the games that are going to be hitting the shelves in time for Holiday '11. How does the much anticipated Star Wars stack up? What kind of fitness benefits can we expect out of these new titles? Answers to these questions and more below the jump.

Recently we had the opportunity to play a few of the titles that are coming out for the Holiday '11 season, some targeting children and others, fun for the whole family.
Holiday 2011 Kinect Preview:

Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster: A new take on the storybook, this title puts young children in a storybook with their favorite Sesame Street characters. Game play is whimsical and at times rather active. We see this as a nice title for young children especially on rainy days.

Kinect: Disneyland Adventures: Another title for children (although slightly older than Sesame Street) this game takes the family on a virtual tour of Disneyland. We are not going to lie, we did break a sweat while fighting off Captain Hook in the Peter Pan ride mini-game.

Kinect Sports: Season Two: Being big fans of Kinect Sports we were eager to try our hand at Season Two unfortunately for us the only playable elements in the preview were two golf courses and we are rather rubbish at golf. Since golf is not really a game known for the workout it delivers we cannot accurately gauge the fitness potential of this title at this time.

Dance Central 2: It is no surprise that the Dance Central 2 station was the busiest demo of the event. We braved the stares of onlookers to give this game a whirl and did our best impression of a fantastic dancer alongside our event dancing partner. The biggest improvement to this game over the previous version is being able to dance alongside a friend. Like the prior version, this game does deliver a workout, so now with version two you and a friend can sweat together.

Kinect Star Wars: We are not going to lie, being the nerds we are this was hands down the title we were most excited to try at the event. Having made allusions to trying to Jedi mind trick our Kinect this title is one where the hand movements for using the Force come oh so naturally. Surprisingly the game does offer a bit of a workout as you slash your lightsaber and knock out droids. We can hardly wait to see more of this title and it is decidedly our most anticipated title of Holiday '11.

What's titles are you most excited about?

White Enamel Flatwa...
I just want to say that I love this thread. I got a connect at the end of last year and have been trying to get healthier with the use of Fitness Evolved. I really enjoy it but I'm unsure of how much it is really doing for my health. Anyway, love it and keep it up. It's nice to hear someone elses attempt at improving their health with kinect.
