We often drive by Xcape on 4th street and oogle over whatever happens to be in the window that week. We decided to wander in the week before they headed out to the Palm Springs Modernism show and walked into a fantasic group of modern gems. Self admittedly, they said they were a bit overstuffed getting ready for the show but welcomed me in to photograph any how. It's the usual suspects at Xcape: Bertoia for Knoll, Heywood, Finn Juhl, Nelson lamps...they do a great job of restoring what needs to be done and searching out the really prized pieces so you don't have to weed through the stinkers or the restoration process.
If you can't make it to Long Beach to visit their show rooms [they have 2 spaces on 4th street, their own and also they participate in The Vintage Collective down the street] they also participate at the Rose Bowl space #HH96, Art Deco to 60's San Francisco Show, and of course the Palm Springs Modernism Show that just passed, as well as their online reference to the in-store pieces. If there happens to be something specific you're looking for give them a call and possibly they'll send out the hounds to find it.
