Though I don't currently have quotable prints on my walls, I wouldn't rule it out if something really made me smile or think.
Pictured Above:
• DIY How I Met Your Mother wall art via House of Hepworths
• Stay Gold print from Union Press, as seen in Melyssa & Ted's Colorful Carriage House
• Seinfeld print, Paper Chat, $40
• Friends-inspired Lobster print, Not on the High Street, $25.03
Do you/would you decorate with pop culture prints?

Commercial Flour Sa...
I'm one of the rare members of AT who isn't so put off by the "Keep Calm and Carry On" posters, so these wouldn't bother me at all. You can DIY you own and either use existing phrases or create any saying that matters to you personally. My own would be the only one I'd want on my wall. In fact, I've been mulling over making and framing a poster that reads, "Go Ride Your Bike" for awhile now. I'd like to hang it by my front door. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.
I am generally against quote art, with one notable exception. Alan Yang's living room art just tickles me to death.

Generally not my speed, but at my 14 yr old daughter's request, I painted a big board with this phrase from Adelle: "Next time I'll be braver I'll be my own savior Standing on my own two feet"
I thought those were good words for a 14 yr old - maybe even for all of us.
I tend to shy away from these because my apartment's already a little too Russophilic and adding pop culture quotes to the mix would be overkill. However, I was perusing etsy for a print for my kitchen and realized that "I'm gonna go talk to some food about this" needed to be on that wall, which is open to the living room and the first thing I see when I'm thinking about eating my feelings.
The print I was looking at wasn't the look I was going for, though, so I may or may not have spent an hour Photoshopping one up to suit my kitchen and sent it to Costco for a 16x20 print. Totally happy with having a Liz Lemon quote on my wall now that I've put some creativity into it.
Not usually my thing either. However, I am making a chalkboard to go near the space in my kitchen that has been set aside for the dog and at the top it will say "I'm Cordelia. I don't think, I know. Okay?" Because she's Cordelia and she does know.
@lazy lurker good words indeed. And I love it when parents let kids make their mark on a place without worrying if it matches their own style.
@jlwmid - Hey, if we're pulling out the Buffy/Angel quotes, I want one that says:
"I'm finished being everybody's butt-monkey."
I don't know if it's pop-culture-y, but I just painted a sign for my bedroom that says "Obstinate Headstrong Girl" from Pride and Prejudice and its my favorite thing ever.
I generally don't like words as decor, but I think tequila red's right about Alan Yang's piece.
The only words I display are on a lithograph of Pete Seeger with the words, "If music alone could change the world, I'd only be a musician."
I may just have to make my own of the first one. Love it!
I'm usually not a fan of quotes on the wall, but I'm dying to put something from "Anne of Green Gables" up in my house. So many great quotes to choose from!
Mine will be from Dr. Who- "First things first...but not necessarily in that order."
I'm not a motivational quote kinda girl, but if it's geeky enough I'd do it.
I've been prepping to make a Reaver Trail cross stitch for a while if that says anything...
I'm all for quotes, especially DIY ones. It's the pithy "eat, pray, love" stuff, or the "laundry" in the laundry room, or metro posters that are actually prints bought at TJ MAXX, etc. that I personally wouldn't do, but if it makes someone else happy, have at it.
I don't respond to the traditional inspirational message and I get rather hostile about slogans I see everywhere. But I am a fan of the odd message popping up in unexpected places. I like to buy gifts for people from the Society 6 website's typography section. For example I bought this phone case for a friend:
http://society6.com/product/SICK-o0_Print/
I rather like all of Wasted Rita's work. Here's another example:
http://society6.com/product/WAKE-UP-Oh7_Print/
I bought this Villaraco message on a pillow for myself:

If it moves you, do it!
I love almost all word art! My favorite of these has to be Barney from Home I Met Your Mother though.
I am going to add some of my favorite TV and movie quotes to a wall in the next few weeks. LOVE this one :p
omg! im actually a little "QuoteandFrame-Holic" i love having quotes everywhere! ....although the HIMYM is everywhere so im kinda tired of it :s (sorry barney!) but the Lobster quote from Friends is my favorite!!!!
I have the "keep calm and carry on" but also have some Einstein, Warhol, Coehlo adn cookie fortunes everywhere. :D
This makes me smile. I especially love the lobster print :)
I bought a print on Etsy that says "DO OR DO NOT. THERE IS NO TRY - YODA." Perfect for a 12-year-old boy tackling homework. That, and Yoda rules. I guess as "Say Anything" quote might work for me too...

No. They all turn pithy after a few minutes. If everyone actually life long lived by 'life long words to live by', the planet; maybe this country would be far better than it is. Just like religion, as universal as it is, it hasn't done THAT much universal good.
Actions are always going to speak louder than (printed) words.
After my mom passed away and I was going through her/their things (dad went first) I found little quotes my mother had written down on little bits of paper over the years, tucked into drawers, pockets of handbags and her little fanny pack. They were ages old and some of them were quite ratty. I've saved them all. This has inspired me to think about using one of them in this way as a reminder of the inspirational person she was, creating a way for her generous and kind influences to be carried forward.
Oh, and the first one is a modern adaptation of some older phrase she would have used. I love this one, it's so her.
I typically don't like quote art, though i love typography. That being said, I do have one simple wood block print in our home that says "Be Awesome Today". http://www.etsy.com/listing/70064598/be-awesome-today-wood-block-art-print
It's placed directly next to our master bedroom door, so we have to see it when we leave the bedroom each morning and start our day.
I love typography/quotes. Unabashedly. I have to remind myself to use them sparingly.
I have two in my living room - one my sister and I made ourselves: http://wearingthewig.blogspot.ca/2012/11/a-few-hours-late-for-daily-post-but-its.html
The other was ordered from Etsy here: http://www.etsy.com/listing/62941958/graphic-design-typography-print-8x10
I also have one in my office from that same company: http://www.etsy.com/listing/103283776/typography-graphic-design-print-8x10-i?
Like I said. Unabashed.
I don't care for quote-art. The one(s) that are most like fingernails on chalkboard are the "Live. Laugh. Love" ones. Ugh, so trite & yet saccharine. Other than someone who's had head trauma, who needs to read that every day?
Put a gun to my head, I'd paint Mooj's advice to Andy from 'The 40 Year Old Virgin' on my walls. "Life is about people. It's about connections..." (google the rest)
i love you, and i'm moving in
I found a drawing in my son's room while cleaning that says, "things to do today: Wake up. Brush Teeth. Be Awesome." it makes me cry laughing every time I think of it (and my sister in law is a dentist; she loves it!). it's currently on my fridge, but reading @almostperfect post made me want to enlarge it and hang it so I can see it going out the door every day
Mooj had it right on. It's not about the rusty trombones. So, so wise.
I'm laughing at how many people are saying something like: " I'm not into wall quotes, but the one I like says..."! I too was/am in that camp. I am getting a poster with a quote from The Wire's Omar Little on it and I'm super excited about it!
I love quotes - especially if they're Neil Diamond lyrics. The man's a magician when it comes to translating the complexities of life into simple thoughts that everyone can relate to. I plan on having his stuff *everywhere* when I get my own place.
I want a gallery wall, where I can change out quotes and pictures and things that make me smile whenever I feel like it - I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to things that I'm going to hang on my wall! All the frames would be white, and the same size... and I'll just print out/mount different things as I feel like it.... it can be an ever-changing personal art gallery!
i'm in love with you TINYHANDS. I too, hate "EAT" in the kitchen, etc. OK, uh, was PLANNING on it.
