Yellow has to be one of the harder wall and decor colors to get right. It seems like if you go two shades in the wrong direction you end up with 'Boisterous Banana' instead of 'Blissful Butter'. My parents had curtains throughout their first house in 1973 made out of the same fabric as the bedspreads in the first picture. Everywhere else had the black colourway, but the bedroom had the red version. Boy, this takes me back...
My sister's room was bright yellow, similar to the 1st photo. I remember watching my parents paint it when I was 5. Her sheets were navy and white with tiny specs of yellow. It was awesome and bold and oh so early 80s. I see it in pictures now and the walls are blinding!
