What could be cheaper, faster and easier than slapping some paint on the wall? Stamps! If you're looking to bring in a little whimsy to your space, stamps are an easy way to give your space your own personal (forgive the pun) stamp.
Curtains, walls, pillowcases, napkins, plant pots, stationery, tote bags, invitations, paper plates and cups ... once you start, you may not stop. Potatoes have often been the default for carving your own design. Now, Yellow Owl Workshop, one of my favorite go-to print shops, brings that versatility to rubber, all in one cute box.
Containing everything you need to create your own stamp, their Carve-A-Stamp Kit includes 25 templates to get you started, vellum (for tracing and transferring the design to the rubber), a carving tool with mulitple blades, and an ink pad that prints on surfaces ranging from fabric to wood to glass and metal. Once you get the hang of the technique (it takes a little practice before it's as easy as it looks in this video), you'll be able to branch out to your own designs.
