Yevgenia's Light & Airy Hand-Painted Ceramics

Yevgenia, a classically-trained painter, converts ceramics and glassware into works of art with loose organic graphics. Her pieces are all hand-painted and one-of-a-kind. The reusable coffee mugs in particular combine form and function, while also keeping disposable coffee cups out of the landfill.

Similar to the seemingly classic story of how so many handmade businesses start out, Yevgenia started painting ceramics as a gift. Her first pieces were for her father, a man who has "everything" and loves to cook. She painted some of his cookware as a reminder of her every time he cooked.

Yevgenia's pieces stick to a few lovely themes, baby's breath, grass fields (my personal favorite), buds and blooms, patchwork, and the dragon collection. All of her designs capture the light and delicate quality of ink and watercolor illustrations while also creating a subtle and classic graphic. A practicing multi-media artist Yevgenia seems to have found a unique voice in ceramics and glassware.

You can pick up some of Yevgenia's pieces through her website:www.yevgenia.com, her etsy shop, and view her pieces through her flickr album. Her pieces range in price from $15 to $250.

"I think shopping responsibly is very important. I only buy what I LOVE or absolutely need. This automatically filters out a lot of stuff. My best practice is to walk away without buying. If I'm still dreaming about that item 2-3 days later, then it's calling for me and it's a mini soul mate connection. And since I love handmade pieces, even though they are more expensive than the mass-produced products I know they are unique, quality and made with love. So It's almost like art collecting. Plus I'm supporting a kindred creative soul out there. It's all about good karma going around."
