We're all for striped rugs, and lately, we've also noticed the Missoni-esque chevron rugs too (and we're all over those too--and if anyone knows where to get one of these chevron rugs in LA, please tell us!) As much as we experiment with bedding textures and patterns, we're not as skilled with the layering of rugs. Part of it could be that rugs are way more expensive, and the other part is that we often buy a rug size big enough to fit the entire room. However, with open floorplans being the norm nowadays and we're attempting to differentiate "areas" in bigger rooms, what are some good rug pairings? For example: if we have an 8x10 shag rug in a living room, but want a smaller, narrower rug for the space off to the side where the kids like to play, would be it visually be too much, too weird to go with a striped dhurrie?
