Nickelodeon debuted a new live-action children's show at the end of last month called "Yo Gabba Gabba!" The show is hosted by the quirky DJ Lance Rock who looks as though he should have been a member of Dee-Lite.

DJ Lance begins each show by yelling, "Yo Gabba Gabba!" and then releases a myriad of fuzzy dancing monster characters from a briefcase. Each episode of "Yo Gabba Gabba!" also features guest stars which have included The Shins, Elijah Wood, Biz "You Got What I Need" Markie and Mark Mothersbaugh. The hipster factor seems to run high in the show.

In between the dance numbers, Club Kid-inspired costumes and guest stars are several cartoon vignettes, which teach children about manners and feel as though they were inspired by 1960s kitsch and Yoshitomo Nara.

"Yo Gabba Gabba!" airs weekdays on Nickelodeon at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Have any of you seen this show? What do you make of it? Is it a yay or a nay?
