Your 2010 Federal Taxpayer Receipt

Pssst...hey you, Mr./Ms. Procrastinator...you know today is the last day to file for 2010 taxes, right? Oh yeah, that stressed out expression on your face says it all. Well, at least when you're finished filing, for the first time you'll be able to see exactly where and how much of your hard earned income is being spent by the Federal Government. The White House launched this website to help you visualize the breakdown of your tax dollars being put to use.

In his State of the Union Address, President Obama promised that this year, for the first time ever, American taxpayers would be able to go online and see exactly how their federal tax dollars are spent. Just enter a few pieces of information about your taxes, and the taxpayer receipt will give you a breakdown of how your tax dollars are spent on priorities like education, veterans benefits, or health care.

Like cable TV, we only wished our tax dollars expenditure could be determined a la carte, in a subscription based system (more "Science, Space, and Technology Programs", please)!

Punch in your numbers over at Your 2010 Federal Taxpayer Receipt.
