Does it feel like a little something is missing even though the tree has been decorated, the presents wrapped and the house draped in strings of light? We have a tiny holiday decor element we break out anytime we feel like there's a bare spot in our home.
It's the simplest of things, but a little sprig of green leaves with red berries in a cute holiday glass adds a remarkably elegant, simple touch of holiday cheer to a blank corner of a kitchen, bathroom or just a vignette that's not feeling overly holiday-ish. It's especially nice for those who prefer a look that's not over-the-top and who enjoy natural-themed holiday decorations. And since there are many evergreen plants with red berries (we think this is pyracantha, but nature experts feel free to chime in and correct us), it can be a free way to add a punch of holiday cheer quickly if you have a plant in your backyard or your neighborhood. (Though pet owners, please always be careful when bringing new strange plants within reach of furry loved ones).
After seeing Maxwell's last one minute tip video, though, we're starting to think our new go-to holiday decor might be DIY Felt Ball Garlands! And we also love the way a friend casually adds small ornaments and yarn to her indoor cacti collection throughout the season.
What's your go-to punch of last-minute decor? Do you add in a simple plant with red berries? Find an extra string of lights to drape? Or once you decorate, are you done and don't let yourself add anything more?
