Our outdoor areas have always been bold, bright spaces that were pretty different from our interiors. In our new space, we see more similarity between our indoor and outdoor styles and the bold colors we’ve been incorporating in both. Could someone guess your home’s indoor style by glimpsing one of your outdoor areas?
If we were to use Apartment Therapy house tours as evidence, it would seem that many folks carry their interior style into their outdoor spaces—that their natural style shows up everywhere they decorate. But maybe others, like us, feel more comfortable to get bolder with color and style when the canvas is an outdoor space. Still others might not have the time/energy/space/budget to create an outdoor space that fits their personality.
Which category do you fall into? Do your outdoor spaces look similar in style to your home’s indoor spaces? Or do you feel more inspired or more comfortable being bolder in your outdoor areas? Let us know!

My interior and exterior are pretty much the same style. Limited space necessitates that what doesn't go into storage goes into my home therefore I feel a need to coordinate and be creative. Example: the deck chairs function as 3rd and 4th chairs for the dining area when I have guests. The deck is also outside my living room window.
Lots of neutrals ground my bold, but non-primary color choices. I just ordered an indoor/outdoor bolster because the colors go so well with my living room rug. Needless to say, I will be disappointed if the fabric is too "hard" to work indoors.
Very similar, I guess. I live in a tropical area, so bringing the outdoors in is one of my favorite things.
My interior and exterior is similar. I just finished doing some serious landscape in my backyard (yay!). Like my interior space, my exterior space is somewhat neutral-ish, with small pops of color. Specifically, I have a small lawn area and mostly nonflowering evergreens around the perimeter. The small pops of color come from rust cushions atop benches I built myself.
Mine are very similar. Clean lines, contemporary shapes, lots of bold secondary and tertiary colors, and just enough neutrals to keep it looking more cohesive than eclectic.
Since we're moving into our new house in a couple of months most of our energy is going into the indoors. BUT since we have a pool and patio, that is definitely an area that we can't cut corners in. The difficulty in having our indoor style outdoors is that outdoor furniture is so expensive! So while I think it's all an extension of our style, it'll probably have to wait a bit.
My styles are the same; caribbean comfortable!
I think my outdoor style really matches my indoor style- although i sometimes find it hard to justify the high prices of great outdoor furniture

Ok, that tiny turtle planter is too cute. Any tips on where to snag a similar one?
