As I started to think about and look around for entryway ideas, I found they run the gamut from palatial and strikingly beautiful to uber-kid-friendly but sacrificing adult style. Here, I stuck with simple, chic, and practical ideas that could work in any home. They use paint, photos, furniture, and even quirky hooks to clear the floor and create an inviting space that you're not embarrassed to come home to or show off. Maybe they'll inspire you to give yours an update, or if you've done something that worked, share and inspire others below. Now come on in...

Sprout Side Table
We're currently trying to figure ours out. The front door opens almost immediately into the living room so hooks for coats and such won't work. And we have a closet just to the right, so they can go there. And we have a dry erase board just on the other side of the wall. Basically, we're looking for a piece of furniture that fits the living decor but also conceals what we don't want displayed. We're keeping an eye out for dressers that can possibly be redone.
My husband and I finally purchased a sideboard. It took up the entire wall in the dining area, that we needed to get rid of our little wine cabinet. After watching Maxwell's cure video on entryways late last year, I was finally inspired me to arrange the entryway using the wine cabinet. We took out the wine holder from the bottom shelf, so we put the cabinet (more like a tiny console table) against the wall with a mirror above it. A plate for keys, a picture frame, mail on the middle shelf, and my husband's laptop (in its case) and my bag on the bottom shelf. I also added a great ikat rug that goes from the table to the the front door. Our entry way is tiny, hence the tiny table, but now it's organized and eye-pleasing!
