Z Gallerie is another affordable, stylish alternative if you are looking to furnish and accessorize your home in an afternoon. Their style is more tribal, more world and a little bit more generic at the same time. Think of Anthropologie without an edge.
You will find everything from tabletop, to lighting, to bedding to major furniture in darker, richer hues and a shiny, more urban finish. Price points are good. Lamps from $70 to $150, sofas around $1200 and lots of framed artwork from $35 to $700. This is a BIG store.

I've been tempted to buy furniture from Z Gallerie, but seeing how badly scratched the floor models are, I decided against it.
Z Gallerie has been around for years. As a former Store Manager at Z Gallerie, Union Street in san Francisco. I know firsthand that the furniture is excellent quality but I also know that they as a company are notorious for not delivering on time. Their decorative accessories while often trendy are great because they are relatively inexpensive and you can change your style often. Definitely worth checking out.
I had a bed from Z Gallerie for *years* - my ex husband still has it, I assume. It was really nice, HEAVY, and held up to all sorts of attempts at moving it and such.
Delivery was also fine, with no damage. The only thing that ever really damaged it was a scratch in the headboard when the closet door fell down in a big gust of wind.

Yes, it's been around for years. My coffee table is from there, and it's my favorite piece of furniture. I'm always getting compliments on it. They also have a *great* selection of low-priced artwork and oversize mirrors (one of which I also own).

Have you been inside a ZGallerie? The "swarthy" reference is very apt and is based on the aesthetics of the place. Let's not get our PC hackles up unnecessarily.
Yes, it's a color reference, as in the colors of the merchandise, nothing more.
I have found some good accessory items at Z Gallerie. Kind of reminds me of H&M, in that you have to search through the dross to get to the good stuff. Glad to know their furniture is of decent quality.

Exactly. It's worth strolling through about once a season to see if they have anything worth picking up, but it's never been my go-to place.
