Before boarding a plane from Los Angeles to San Francisco last January I picked up a copy of Sunset. It was a small act and it could have been another magazine, but it was nonetheless a decision that would change the way we live...
It was that month that Sunset ran their article The Zero Waste Home. Béa Johnson's story and way of life has inspired me to reevaluate many aspects of the way we live, including our buying habits and our relation to material goods. So, needless to say, I was so happy to see this little clip from Sunset, all about Béa's small (yet functional) wardrobe.
The Zero Waste Home was also the fodder for the Living with Less series, something I plan on readdressing over the next few months.

i strongly believe in living with a minimal number of clothes...this is so inspiring
infact, her wardrobe looks like what essentials i have..yay!
Um yeah. Auto play on videos is a BAD thing. Fix that.
She must not work outside the home if she can get away with having that few clothes. I have professional clothes for work and then casual clothes for when I'm off work and I still feel like I'm wearing the same thing all the time. I'm not even big on shopping for clothes, so if this is difficult for me I can't imagine what that would be like for someone who is really into clothes. I wonder how often she has to do laundry?
this is great, thanks for posting!
I work in a law office, and get by with even less clothing, while still looking professional. Everyone is different, you just have to determine your own level of comfort in a minimalistic lifestyle.
Wow. Amazing!
