We have been preparing for our first baby's arrival and it's been so much fun getting the room all ready. We wanted the room to be soothing and bright. I went with simple white and light wood furniture against light gray walls.
Our favorite part of the room is the window seat and bookshelves that we designed and had built. I had a window seat in my room growing up and I wanted my son to have a place to sit and read. We are looking forward to sitting there and reading books or watching out the window with him. I chose the gray elephant fabric for a fun touch that coordinates with the rest of the room.
Above the changing table, we hung an oversized world map with an antique airplane mobile. We hope to inspire our son to be an avid traveler like his parents. One of the first things I picked out for the room were the baby animal photographs above the crib. I love the little faces and the simplicity of the white backgrounds.
