DWR gets another scoop. This one comes courtesy of Emeco, who is releasing 500 chairs - an update on the classic 10-06 Navy Chair - seen through the eyes of the Foster mafia. Our opinion? Hey, they look pretty nice but a bit antiseptic. We still have a thing for Gehry's kooky Emeco chair.

You can order them this month, but they don't arrive until Jan. Here's the pitch (no idea of pricing yet):

The sleek new chair features an ultra-slim, all-aluminum frame, tempered for strength and hand-made at the historic Hanover Pennsylvania factory using Emeco's proprietary "77 Step Process". The ergonomically shaped aluminum seat and back are hand-welded, resulting in a minimal, seamless appearance and slight irregularities due to the handmade nature. '20-06' is super-strong, yet uses 15% less aluminum than the original Navy ® Chair. Of that metal, 80% is recycled aluminum, qualifying as an environmentally sound product.
