It's no secret (or surprise really) that the world of design is leaning a bit more toward the modern side of the spectrum these days (with the boho craze as an isolated deviation). The modern-minimalist movement has come a long way from stark, cold interiors many associated with the look, making way for a much more livable aesthetic that proves you can still have warmth and coziness without all the stuff. Suddenly interior spaces are more about the colors on the walls, the textures on the furniture and the interesting mix of humble materials. If the design mantra speaks to you, lose yourself in 11 of my favorite modern/minimal blogs.

Weekday Carnival

Above: With a tagline like "Escape from everyday life" you know you're in for something exciting and Finnish blogger Riikka Kantinkoski certainly doesn't disappoint. The stylist and lifestyle photographer is always displaying chic interiors that comprise bold design choices in minimalist settings. This blog is a feast for the eyes!

Best to kick things off with an extremely modern blog. Minimalissimo is a design magazine that is committed to inspiring creatives through a less-is-more aesthetic. The content brand sheds light on the idea that a stripped back space is often far more impactful than its maximalist counterpart.

Spons Vormgevers

Design-slash-photography house Spons located in the Netherlands has developed a very edited palette that appears on their blog. Spanning a spectrum of grays, subtle taupe's and muted pops of pigment, you'll find delicately balanced still lifes and inspired interiors.

The Style Files

Another mod-min gem is Danielle de Lange's The Style Files, which is best described as a global adventure through a European lens. There's always something truly intriguing to be found here, but no matter how far outside of the box it may seem, there is always an element of coziness to the designs featured.

A great product and shopping resource for all things clean-lined, Stylizimo is a well-known source for modern-minimal inspiration. They're curated moodboards and tranquil interiors make visiting this blog like taking in a deep breath of fresh air.

Grey and Scout

Denver stylist and interior stager Liz Bachman started Grey and Scout as a creative outlet for the homes and pieces that inspired her (this was before the reign of Pinterest by the way). Now her blog has become a go-to source for anyone looking to keep things simple while also remaining stylish and warm.

Reading My Tea Leaves

Created by writer-photographer Erin Boyle, Reading My Tea Leaves has a minimalist overtone threaded through each of her stories. Her message is to live simply and with purpose, keeping the environment top of mind, and happiness and well-being at the forefront of everything you do. Good reminders!

We Are Scout

Highlighting the more colorful and playful side of modern-minimalist design is this creative lifestyle blog by Lisa Tilse. From the latest runway shows and product debuts to striking architecture and oh-so-chic interiors, each bit of content adheres to a modernist perspective.

Showcasing the beauty in absolutely everything, even the most mundane (hence the name), Jonathan Lo puts a little extra pep in your step with his artful blog.

Amber Interiors

Laid-back Los Angeles designer Amber Lewis has turned heads with her easily recognizable collected minimalism style. With a busy roster of clients and projects, her blog gives us a sneak peek into her world, revealing some killer before and after's.
