Feeling tired and sluggish? You're not alone. But you don't need gallons of coffee or a lunchtime workout to boost your energy throughout the day, all you need is your smartphone. Did you know by just switching the hand you normally text with could replace your jolt of java in the morning—really! Check it out below, plus two more vitality-boosting tips.

In the Morning... Switch your Routine
When you get up tomorrow morning, pay attention to your smartphone routine. Do you use your right thumb? Always hold the keyboard sideways? Try switching it up. The brain responds to new experiences by releasing a rush of neurotransmitters, such as dopamine, which make you more alert. Even changing which fingers you use to compose a text can give you an energy boost to carry through the morning.

In the Afternoon... Play a Brain Game
If you hit an afternoon lull, reward yourself with a stimulating break. Download an app like one of these three brain games. Fun puzzles and challenges activate the reward system of the brain, which releases a surge of energizing neurotransmitters.

In the Evening... Set a Bedtime Alarm
It's no secret that great sleep gives you energy. Before you have dinner tonight, set an evening alarm on your phone to remind you when it's time to get ready for bed. When the alarm sounds, it's time to stop whatever you're doing—checking emails, watching TV—and get to bed. Your body will thank you in the morning.
