4 Fairy House Kits: Indoor Winter Activity

When it's about -30 degrees outside, and kids still ask to make woodland fairy houses while you are trying to make dinner, a ready-made kit sound great to me!

We were lucky last summer to be able to make a whole fairy village in the country. Now that we're in the city and in the middle of a really cold week where we are actually told not to keep kids out more than 10 minutes at a time, all our outdoor snow options are out of the picture. Yet the kids still want to go out to make more fairy lodgings, fearing they might be freezing. Here's where making the houses inside and quickly dropping it on the balcony or in the yard comes in handy.

Etsy was a great source to find such kits:

Pied Piper Crafts has a rather big fairy house kit, very complete, with structure and wall coverings.
Mary Fontones offers a mini fancy fairy house.
Fairy Garden Depot provides a ready made cardboard house that can be decorated with included gems, pebbles and moss.
Fairy House's kit includes a wooden base and everything to build up from it including a pewter fairy.
