Things we love about this property crush:

Here’s your chance to live in a treehouse that doubles as a condo. One of nine properties from famed architect Edmund Burger, best known for the American Pavilion at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona, it’s a gem to have landed on the market. Built in 1981, the home demonstrates Geomorphic architecture: characterized by hard-edge angles, beveled finishing, and outcroppings—all conforming to the earth around it. This particular structure was built into a 45-degree angle and is set among massive oak trees. What’s more is that there are three decks to enjoy the surroundings (and especially the views).

The 1,450 square feet of living space begins with a sunken living room. Here, large windows and a sliding glass door (to one of the decks) bring in so much natural light. There’s a wood-burning fireplace for cool California evenings and a high ceiling. It’s one of those places that earns the whole “it’s all in the details” saying. Step up and there’s a spacious dining area. The clean white kitchen has plenty of cabinet space and modern appliances. It’s the kind of room you can leave be or put your own decorating stamp on. Beautiful hardwood flooring runs throughout.

The bedrooms are spacious with lovely views, and the baths are updated and fresh with marble-style countertops. There’s also a washer and dryer in the small laundry room.

And while this place has gorgeous interiors, it’s the outside that really stuns. The three decks are spacious and each offers unique views of the Albany Hill and East Bay.

The condo is privately located at the end of a cul-de-sac with trails up to the hill. It’s near the El Cerrito Plaza BART, the freeway, and shopping at Albany Bowl.
