We came across Traci's website, 45Wall Design the other day and we fell in love with her design studio. It's inspiring and intriguing — mostly due to how she was able to squeeze so much storage into one space. Once we looked a little further, we realized not only was she able to squeeze in a ton of storage, she was able to do it on a reasonable budget!
The desk space is so utilitarian — it functions as a desk, but it also has a ton of storage. She used the EXPEDIT workstation from IKEA and placed an additional bookcase beside it. This is a great option because all of the reference material you need is right next to your desk, eliminating the need to get up and search for items while you're busy at work.
Next to the bookcases are two of the ALEX drawer units stacked on top of each other. The amount of storage space that was packed into this work studio is quite inspiring. A space saving compact wireless Apple keyboard and the Bluetooth enabled Magic Mouse keeps her desktop uncluttered.
For extra work space, this free-standing kitchen stand VARDE from IKEA was made into a work bench. The shelves were put to good use by displaying her vintage camera collection, and we all know how much we love a vintage camera collection (Etsy is a great source for hunting down and putting together a similar showcase, alongside thrift shops and flea markets).
And if you fancy that font-based mustache poster up on the wall, you can order one over at Old Tom Foolery.
