Type: 1 bedroom apartment, rented

Why I use color: Color! Keep it coming! I use color to create an attitude in my space. My red/black main living space in my apartment is set up like a lounge. Three tones or red, (bright, brick and burgandy) give a very rich luxurious feel. My upholstered walls add warmth, texture and drama. Color allows your personality to be on display 24/7!

2 Good color tips:

1. Allow your pallette to have shades of your accent color, don't hold yourself to one red, add other shades to mix it up and add eye candy.

2. Find decorative accessories in the tones you have selected, that add shape and pattern in the room.

2 good color resources:

1.Paint is the an easy way to add color, but sometimes as was the case in my apartment, the landlord did not allow for painting so upholstery was the other option. Fabric adds, color, texture and incredible drama!

2. Don't be afraid to add your color with throw pillows and accents, they are easily changed out and add comfort.
