5 Tech Tools to Keep Mosquitos From Spoiling Outdoor Fun

Summer is the season for outdoor entertaining and it seems that everyone is hosting parties outside whether on their patio, roof, or backyard. While these festivities are fun, one thing we do not enjoy about them are the pests, primarily mosquitoes. To help keep these nasty little creatures from spoiling the fun, take a look at these tech tools we've rounded up.

5 tools to keep bugs at bay:

1) A Fan: A very simple solution to the mosquito outdoor party crashers is to use fans. The weak gusts of air from fans are enough to prevent mosquitoes from circling and landing on you and your guests. Fans also help you to cool you down which will also give the mosquitoes less body heat and sweat to work with.

2) Mosquito Traps & Repellents: Being Unplggd we would be remiss not to mention portable electronic repellent devices like the ThermaCELL MR-G and LED mosquito traps like the Mega Catch Alpha. $21 & $69

3) MistAway: For serious mosquito protection for the backyard check out MistAway. These systems promise to control mosquitoes by spraying a very fine mist of botanical insecticide through a series of mosquito misting nozzles installed on your property. This sounds a bit intense for us, but then again we don't own a lake house.

4) Solar Insect Zappers: These outdoor solar insect zappers take 8 hours to charge and last for eight hours and have the option of switching from zapping mode to ambient light. Set of 4, $100

5) Use LED Lighting: Fun fact, LED lights don't attract bugs, so consider using illumination like the Hozuki LED Candle Lantern at your next outdoor get together. $90
