Close one eye (you need the other to read this) and dream with me for a second: it's a warm, obligation-less Saturday afternoon (because #duh) and you step out into your backyard oasis to feel the sun on your SPF-protected skin, peach iced tea in hand (if we're dreaming, maybe it should be an Oreo milkshake?). Looking around, you take in your surroundings and say to yourself "Man, how lucky am I to have this outdoor space?" Okay, open your closed eye...what did you envision seeing? If you're anything like me, you pictured one—or many—of these perfectly pinnable patios, gardens and courtyards. Dream on, dreamer.
Above, the pool area of this Italian manse by architect Michele Bonan, spotted on The Daily Beast, features this rather appropriate headline: "OMG, I Want This House: Italian Manor Edition." We couldn't agree more.
Steve and Debbie's barn-inspired South Africa home (shown above) gives me all the feels, especially that view. I'd probably sit on that stone bench all day if I could, dreaming of an eternal vacation, and possibly where I might be able to find life-changing pizza.
Excuse me while I faint. This New York terrace, seen in Architectural Digest, is such a charmer with its weathered wood flooring and chairs and picture-perfect table setting.
Oh the naps that could be taken here (discovered on Harper's Bazaar), because in my dream, where this vine-filled nook resides, there are no insects that would force me back inside.
Not all dreamy outdoor spaces happen in the back of a home. Jaimie and James' magical Evanston, Illinois, cottage is a gasp-worthy example.
Because we all fantasize about sun bathing in Greece during our downtime, here is this sweet spot seen on My Paradissi for further inspiration.
Which one of these would you like to get lost in? Chime in!
