#7 – Randi’s Post Loft Sophistication
Location: Brooklyn Heights
Size & Type: 410 sq-ft. Studio
Pitch: When I moved from a 1200-sq ft. loft to my one-room studio, I thought I’d be stifled. In fact, it’s been a great exercise in editing–I really only keep and display what I love. As a renter who can’t paint, I wanted to use quite a few strong colors in tandem without overpowering the space…
Pitch Cont’d: I was thrilled that I was able to keep
my queen-sized bed completely exposed and not at all bed-like (I work
from home), which I’ve done by storing my comforter and pillows during the day and eliminating any bedroom-looking furniture from the room.
Your favorite element: The mid century Danish teak sideboard, dining table, and caned chairs I inherited from my parents and all of the original artwork painted by family and friends.
