For this version, we went with more vibrant color than the previous version, but also amped up the space with a lot of layers— including a custom-printed fabric curtain that covers the end wall but still allows access to the storage closet. The leaf print has shape and movement, which we wanted since no actual living plants will stay out there. A DIY folding screen (made with a different, but coordinating, pattern) can be moved around to create shade as needed — very useful for hot Florida. Lastly, a bright and functional outdoor rug covers most of the floor instead of the smaller pieced-together floor mats.

COST

Here’s the cost breakdown for the new additions, which comes out to $692.49. The chair, dot pillow and the sheepskin were purchased from IKEA years ago, all for a total of $100 (if you want to add that to your mental tally).
