Build a $100 Country Style Media Console

If you're like Ana, whose husband loves his moose antlers and detests white paint, you'll realize it takes a little creativity to get all that technology to work with a rustic cabin theme. However, armed with a bucket of slate gray paint and a fair amount of ingenuity, she set out to create a fantastic media console that any Crate and Barrel shopper would envy. Here's how to build your very own...

Using a couple of wood pieces, plywood (for the backing), knobs, screws and nails, wood glue, and finishing supplies, you can get started on your very own old-country woodwork for well under $100. Ana White has provided a splendid, clear and thought out construction process that anyone who has had experience with previous chopping wood experience can understand.

She hints:

"This is an advanced project because there are alot of pieces, and if everything doesn't come out square, your drawers/doors won't work properly. Please don't attempt as a first project. Happy Building!"

If you're up to the challenge, just head on over to her blog post to get started. Here's another shot of the media cabinet below for that extra boost of motivation.
