A Bicycle That's (Sometimes) Built For Two

A Bicycle That's (Sometimes) Built For Two

When you've committed to a basket for your bike as a means to carry home groceries (we've always been partial to milk crates as well) it usually means no one can hop a ride with you. But not anymore, as this designer took matters to the drawing board and came up with a seat and grocery-go-getter all in one!

The folks over at Designboom recently held the Seoul Cycle Design 2010 competition and there were some amazing results that came from it. One of our favorites was this basket turned bicycle seat that is made from a regular milk crate and some window hardware. It's a simple design that was well thought out and goes to prove that where there's a will there's a way, even an aesthetically pleasing one!

Check out the photos above to see how it collapses and then head over to Designboom to see the step-by-step instructions to making your own. We promise it's not hard and you never know when you'll need an impromptu seat, though we suggest adding back pegs for your occasional rider.
