This project is what inspired my business, Annie Helen. The room is called "The Animals Came Out To Play." By using two contrasting colors, I designed and painted an elephant walking along a thin branch, a hippo and penguin family trekking across interior doors, a giraffe peeking over the baby's crib, school of fish swimming into a tree trunk and one hopping rabbit, two monkeys, and turtle intentionally drawn in unrealistic proportions in this imaginative mural for a newborn's nursery/playroom.

My design and photography business, Annie Helen specializes in children and family illustrations including wall murals for nurseries, kids bedrooms and playrooms. This room was the first of many for me as owner/designer of Annie Helen. My then infant son was captivated with the walls and this fascination helped us through many troublesome diaper changes. As soon as he spotted the elephant on the branch, all was right in the world. Before he was talking, he could recognize the animals on the wall and tell you "stories" about their adventures. This room was the inspiration I needed to create stimulating and imaginative environments for young minds.

Thanks, Annie!
