A few years ago, we let you know about a company that will ship you fall foliage if you live in an area that isn't blessed with an abundance of colored leaves. Well now we're not only letting you know how the autumnal-product-sausage is made, you can be a part of it if you want. Cash 4 Leaves will buy your (New England only) foliage that will then be used in the Ship Foliage products.

As unbelievable as the concept might seem at first glance, the company is pretty transparent about why they're offering you cold hard cash for leaves. The one two punch of a drought and an unseasonably warm fall have left them woefully short of the leaves they need for their products on Ship Foliage.

The company is willing to pay a rate of $1 per leaf, in quantities of 100, and they seem to have pretty exacting standards for the leaves they accept. The leaves can't be brown, have any bugs, mold or be damaged in anyway. The review process sounds like something out of CSI: Autumn in New England: "We use 2 state-of-the-art tests to assess the value of your precious leafs: electronic analysis and visual fluorescence testing."

So if you're a New Englander in possession of both an entrepreneurial spirit and Maple tree access, you may have a lucrative weekend ahead of you. Happy hunting!
