A Floor Made From Paper

A Floor Made From Paper

This is definitely one of the more unique DIY projects that we've ever seen (although it's a classic) and we're inspired by the possibilities of using paper as a floor treatment.

Featured in Yankee Magazine, a Vermont couple transformed their pine plank flooring to look almost like stone using brown contractor's paper. The idea probably dates back to the depression when newspaper was often used as a wall and floor covering. There's even a 1920s house built entirely of paper in Rockport, Massachusetts. Though we probably won't actually try it since our home already features one DIY floor disaster, we like the idea of a decoupaged floor treatment (in small doses). There are no shortage of paper options that could be used: wallpaper, paper bags, even the pages of old books.
