Boston's Jane Miller is the owner of the incredible design shop, J.E.M., in the South End. She features works of furniture, housewares, and art by some incredible talented designers, but one of the most captivating works at J.E.M. is done by Jane herself. Behold, the Lucite Bench.

The bases of these benches are found steel sawhorses. Each base is the same in structure, but individually, each one has its own character from the remnants of the older yellow painted finish.

To give these reclaimed bases a new and vibrant life, Miller tops them off with frosted lucite. The lucite top is a hard material, but visually, is a soft and illuminating juxtaposition to the rough, reclaimed look of the steel base. The combination is truly wonderful.

Check out all of Jane's work in the South End at her store, J.E.M.
