I have been dreaming of having my own wood shop since the first wood working class I took in high school many years ago, and I’m finally getting closer to it becoming a reality.

I drove all over Washington this past weekend picking up major craigslist scores on tools and machines to start making some furniture for my new home. As I was browsing the interwebs, I stumbled on a great DIY furniture plan site called The Design Confidential. Rayan has lots of great furniture designs along with step-by-step plans to help you through the process. She even takes requests, so if there is something you’ve always wanted to build but don’t know how, maybe now is your chance.

When you see the estimated cost of building some of these pieces and think about what you would pay in store for something similar, it just might make you pick up a nail gun and table saw for yourself.
