A Marital Mashup Style Mix for the Kitchen

A Marital Mashup Style Mix for the Kitchen

Over the last few weeks, I shared with you my dream kitchen and my husband's, noting how different our tastes are. Several of you, however, were convinced we could come to a happy compromise, so we set out to try (in our dreams, of course). Here is our mashup:

Where I like classic designs, my husband calls them referential. Where he likes a streamlined contemporary style, I feel like it can be immaterial and cold. It turns out, however, that you were right! We have some overlap: we both like clean and simple designs with a touch of warmth in nickel metals, leather, a little wood. We are both happy with this inspiration board, feeling that our two distinct yet complementary styles are blended well here. Perfect practice for when we someday get to do a real dream kitchen reno, and not too far from our low-budget temporary fix-up I hope to share with you sometime soon. What do you think?

1) Hansgrohe HG06128830 Swing C Pull-Out Spray Kitchen Faucet, Polished Nickel
2) Industrial Glass Pendant, West Elm
3) undermount Corian sink
4) live edge bar countertop, Brooks Custom
5) Zodiaq Cloud White countertops everywhere else
6) Arteriors Calvin Top Grain Polished Nickel Barstool
7) of course, we agreed from the start on the Viking range
