There's really no need for an alarm clock to be "evil" to be effective, as proven by this alarm clock system concept utilizing NFC-technology with a smartphone's built-in alarm. The Tangible Alarm offers a hands-on solution for sleepy-eyed snoozers, where simply moving your phone from one position to another can activate the alarm, snooze, or turn the alarm off completely...

UK designer Victor Johansson has been experimenting with NFC technology in various shapes, forms, and functions (his upcoming Bowl Radio is stunning), with his Tangible Alarm concept a solution for not-yet-awake interaction with an annoying alarm clock. NFC permits users to engage activities with a simple slide over from one niche to another (a subtle "speed bump" between each on, snooze, and off section provides the tactile feedback).
