Ace Racines' workstation is mostly made up of Macs, including all of the latest gear from Apple. It's a simple desk, with an emphasis on mobility and convenience. Like a lot of people, he no longer uses any desktop computers, but has two laptops as well as a few mobile devices.

Ace Racines works in IT, but he's got a passion for snowboarding, photography, and surfing. He recently added a new MacBook Pro to his desk. This was an upgrade from his black MacBook. The new laptop has got double the RAM. It's true that more and more people are using laptops as their main computing machines. They are more convenient and easy to lug around when you're on the go. The same cannot be said about a desktop computer.

He uses a black MacBook with 4GB of RAM, a MacBook Pro 13" with 8GB of RAM, a Samsung B2430 monitor that's hooked up to his MacBook Pro, an Apple keyboard and mouse, as well as an iPad. The sound is powered by Harmon Kardon soundsticks.

Since Ace has laptops, his workstation can easily be moved around from one place to the next. This is perfect for him, since he enjoys traveling and photographing. Having used laptops as our main computers for a while, we can understand why Ace, as well as many others, are relying solely on laptops.

It's easy to just take the laptop with you and go to a coffee shop if you want a change of scenery and still get some work done. You can also improvise workstations all over your home by simply moving around, from your desk to your sofa and chaise longue.
