Across The Wire: CB2's Collectibles with a Conscience

Green products can show up in the darndest places—so it's no surprise that our friends at CB2, ever devoted to trends in modern design, offer eco-accessories with a mighty cool backstory. Amid a retail space peppered with Lucite, typographical bar ware and melamine, we found these two wire pieces. More details below the jump!

Handcrafted from iron can packaging by members of an artisan co-op in Africa, the Recycled Bike is teeny in size (5.75" high) but large in detail—movable wheels and kickstand included. Now that's what we call the wheel deal.

And the brand's Wire Creatures, also hand made and painted by artisans in an African coop—income from this project helps support their families—are a grouping of fauna made from wire remnants. Use them as place cards or photo holders to really embrace the animal within.
