Add A Touch Of Style To Your Vintage Crates

Wooden crates are a staple for home decor in many of our spaces. You can't help but love them as they have multiple uses in every room of the house. Although they look great as is, we recently ran across this simple way to dress them up and make them feel a little softer and warmer in any room. Think of it as the prom dress on the high school tom boy. You knew she'd look good, but not this good!

When bringing pieces into your home that can have different uses, we're always striving to find pieces that are not only functional but aesthetically beautiful as well. It doesn't do you any good to have furniture that can provide multiple services for you if it's an eyesore. And although crates are quite beautiful in their own right, sometimes they could use a little extra oompf.

Maya over at the appropriately named blog, Maya Made has come across a great way to dress up a pair of crates that quite often double as bench seating, a coffee table, bookshelves and more. She used a sheepskin to make things a little softer for summer feet and to provide a little cushion for guests. The look is simple and elegant and is a great mix of vintage thrift and bright white classics that pair together wonderfully. If you're not into the real thing, there's always the IKEA standby that's makes for a great alternative.

If you're in the mood for more items of this nature, make sure to check out Maya Made as she's been busy cataloging the ongoings of a barn renovation this summer.
