Adding Color with Rugs: Great Examples from This Year's Entries

Rugs are one of my most favorite ways to add color (and pattern!) to a room. They can be expensive, but when they work, they WORK. Here are some beautiful examples from this year's Room for Color contestants, and the stories behind their finds.

Clockwise from Top Left:

1. International: Kim's "Morocco Memories" Room

Kim and her family brought back a series of colorful carpets (both Moroccan and Persian) from a summer trip to Essaouria, Morocco.

2. Warm: Jennifer's "Pink & Lime" Room

Jennifer found her Anthropologie rug on eBay, after it sold out in the store.

Kelly used a traditional Ethan Allen rug when redecorating her husband's office in their home in Jacksonville, FL.

Kimberly scored her fuchsia and blue Suzani rug at a Bloomingdales tent sale when it was on "mega" sale.
