If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Aldi has now made it possible to flatter the hell out of the royal family. The bargain grocery/everything store is in the midst of its Baby and Toddler Event and eagle eyed consumers have pointed out that a few of the items closely resemble the style of Silver Cross, one of Will and Kate’s brands of choice.

Currently only available in the UK, the Aldi Mamia nursery set includes a wardrobe, cot bed and changing table unit for £349.97 ($482.62). The Silver Cross set it resembles retails for about £950 ($1,310). Will and Kate chose the Silver Cross pram for Prince George (a royal tradition) and not this exact furniture set, though for many folks sharing the same brand of any royal connected item is worth the steep price tag.

“Everyone knows that finances in January can be tight, which is why Aldi is committed to helping parents save as much money as possible,” says Julie Ashfield, joint managing director of Corporate Buying at Aldi, as quoted in the Manchester Evening News. And the event offers up other nursery and baby necessities outside of the furniture set, all reasonably priced.

Whether one identifies as a royal enthusiast or falls into the “Will and Kate who?” camp, the furniture line is an attractive steal. Fingers crossed it will make its way stateside soon.
