Apartment Therapy Survey:

My Style: English country meets ethnic Bohemian

Inspiration: Visiting small villages in France and England, perusing vintage textile collections.

Favorite Element: The whitewashed wooden beams and painted wooden plank walls make this home a unique and special space. The woman that owned the house previously was a master gardener, so I’ve worked very hard to maintain its beauty.

Biggest Challenge: Not overspending.

What Friends Say: They love the light of the house and the setting around it. We have .57 acres and it’s completely secluded with mature cedar trees and rhododendrons.

Biggest Embarrassment: Most of the walls are blank and need artwork. I’m still saving up.

Proudest DIY: Decorating the house with estate sale finds on a budget. Being able to design a kitchen that satisfied my husband’s aesthetic as well as mine.

Biggest indulgence: International trips to purchase rugs and textiles

Best advice: Take your time furnishing your home and don’t purchase from only one source. Also, it’s okay to mix and match colors and styles. It makes for a more unique space.

Dream sources: Top secret :)
