We took a chance combining an old table that our grandmother found in her Berwyn alley with modern aluminum chairs (also donated to us, but this time from a young and hip restaurateur). These Luna chairs are by Allermuir, a manufacturer of contemporary furniture based in the UK.
We think the chairs look great, but they do have a few downfalls. Some guests find the hole in the seat a little disturbing; we just think it's funny. Other times the aluminum can feel terribly cold against bare legs. But the combination of indulgently designed chairs and an antique table with carved wood sides was just too unexpected to pass up. Any thoughts?
