Here’s How Alyssa Edwards Spends a Perfect Night In
Alyssa Edwards is all about the hustle. The drag superstar has toured the world, competed on two seasons of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” and snatched many a trophy as the owner and creative director of the Texas-based Beyond Belief Dance Studio, which also happens to be the focal point of “Dancing Queen,” her recent Netflix show.
Last month, we chatted with Edwards about her newest project, Camp TAZO, where she’s partnering with the tea brand to bring a bunch of adults together to discover their passions and participate in classic camp activities—with a drag twist, of course. Camp is happening in March 2019, but you can apply (the whole thing is free, people!) until November 30.
Since Edwards is so busy, we were curious how she enjoys a rare treat—a night in. She spills the tea below.
Set The Scene
Your perfect homebody scene in five words: Manny (my boyfriend), movies, PJs, Netflix, ice cream.
Night-in uniform: PJs.
What two people, dead or alive, would you let crash your night? Leslie Jones and Ellen.
Now Playing
TV or a movie? Netflix and chill.
What are you watching? “Dancing Queen.” Over and over.
E-books or the real deal? It’s a tie.
Currently reading? “The Art of Taking Chances.” And “GuRu,” RuPaul’s new book.
Silence or music? Playing music.
Board games, yay or nay? I think yay.
What’s Cooking
Order in or cook for yourself? I’m ordering in. I can’t cook.
What are you eating? Mexican food.
What’s for dessert? Peanut butter cookies.
Late-night snack? I’m not really a late night snacker, but sometimes ice cream. Right now, we always have cookies in the house.
Take Care
Do you have a self-care ritual? Sometimes. I like to take a hot bath. Candles lit. Nice string music, or something subtle. I love Adele.
Candles: yay or nay? Yay!
Face masks: yay or nay? Absolute yay. I have a whole drawer full of them.
Bubble bath: yay or nay? Yay.
Ideal bedtime? Midnight.
Thanks, Alyssa!
