Amazon’s Goldbox is a location for all kinds of Amazon deals for a limited time. It’s a bit like a digital rummage sale, where you can find everything from sous vide machines to colored pens. We are often sifting through the (literal thousands) of items here at Apartment Therapy to surface the best deals for home. In doing so, we’ve picked up on some trends, like this teddy bear necklace is nearly always on sale. But we recently noticed something else: Amazon’s daily deals are a great place to shop for magazine subscriptions.

When surfing Amazon’s Goldbox deals, simply click over to the magazines filter and you’ll see tons of options starting at just $5 for a year’s worth of issues. In the age of digital, it’s no secret it’s easy to get magazine subscriptions for way less than you’d pay at newsstands, but the $5 deal is one of the best we’ve seen. They include many titles Apartment Therapy readers likely already know and love, like Food & Wine and Better Homes & Gardens.

For that little, that means if you plan on grabbing even one magazine at a newsstand when flying this year, you might as well have already subscribed to it. To put it into perspective, $5 is as much as a full 94% off the cover price. Even when prices go up to as much as $10 or $20 a year, a quick Google search often finds the deal on Amazon is better that the one offered directly from the publisher.

The only caveat is that, for some (but not all) deals you have to sign up for an auto-renew subscription. That said, Amazon sends a reminder stating the new rate before it happens, and you can manage your renewals in the Amazon subscription center. We’d also set a calendar reminder or alert on our phones to be double-sure anyway.
