If you've ever dreaded leaving your house for a daily fix of a latte or espresso, but don't want to invest in a coffee shop-size operation, Nespresso might be the perfect in-between. Able to brew espresso in a single touch, it can also ultimately save you money over time–the machines aren't cheap, but the espresso pods are around $1 a piece, and with regular use it will eventually pay for itself. (Of course, if you're really just looking for a way to get more convenient, delicious coffee at home that works too.) And today, the VertuoPlus Coffee and Espresso Maker Bundle is Amazon's Deal of the Day, down to $120 from $221.
The VertuoPlus model uses Vertuo capsules, which allow you to brew both coffee and espresso. An update on the original brew pods, barcodes on the Vertuo pods also allow your machine to "read" what type of pod you put in, automatically brewing the right amount of water. (This also ensures you're using a Nespresso-brand pod and not a third-party option, so also keep that in mind.) With a 40-ounce water tank, this model will also require refilling less often. And, like all new Nespresso machines, it comes with a range of Vertuo pods so you can try out and find your favorite.
But perhaps the best part of this deal is that it comes with a frother ($99 value). Using another simple, one-touch system, it will allow you to make a cappuccino or latte with ease. And if you're also a tea drinker, you can make Chia lattes or even to top off milk chocolate.
If you aren't a latte drinker, and are fine with Americanos, you can spend even less on a new Nespresso machine with the Essenza mini by Breville. Currently only $88 (originally $150) it's not bundled with a frother and can only make single-serve espresso, but if that's all you want, you'll love this space-saving option.
