The Amazon Buy That Made My IKEA Furniture Look Extra Luxe
This past spring, I became the proud owner of two white IKEA HEMNES nightstands, which I actually bought for even more of a steal off of Craigslist and LetGo, two of my favorite places to browse for used furniture. (And as anyone who’s ever assembled IKEA furniture knows, the fact that the pieces came to me pre-assembled was a major plus!).
While I was drawn to the tables for their clean lines and ample storage, I knew they could use a little oomph. I’m all about making my room a place that truly reflects my personality, and plain nightstands just weren’t going to cut it. I love a good IKEA hack, but I’d noticed that many amazing transformations simply involved switching out the drawer pulls, which is a quick, inexpensive solution that can truly make all the difference.
The only difficult part was narrowing down which type of drawer pulls I wanted to use—there are really so many styles available at various stores and price points. While browsing on Amazon, I found my answer—a set of 10 beautiful gold drawer pulls for only $12.99. Sold! They were easy to install—I put them on before work one morning—and immediately added a glam touch to my otherwise simple bedside tables.
A friend liked the end result so much that she asked me if I would be willing to sell her the remaining knobs in the set, which she then used to spruce up her parents’ guest room. (I’m all for spreading the DIY love, so I was thrilled she wanted to use them!).
No sweat, no tears, no Joanna Gaines-level DIY involved = a solid upgrade in my book!
