It’s okay to be picky when it comes to bedding. After all, we spend so much time in our beds (especially now that it’s getting dark so early), and life’s simply too short for an uncomfortable bed. Although we try to test out as many products as we can, sometimes it’s not possible to try everything ourselves—and that’s where reviews come in. After doing plenty of research, we found one comforter that the Internet seems to agree on: Linenspa’s down alternative quilted comforter, which has over 7,500 5-star reviews on Amazon.

The much-loved bedding essential provides all-season comfort and has a microfiber down alternative fill that’s ideal for those with allergies. Plus, the box-stitched construction keeps the fill from shifting or clumping, meaning it’ll stay as fluffy as your favorite pillow all night long. As far as color options, it’s available in white and several reversible combinations if you want to use it without a duvet cover (plus corner loops for keeping it in place. Best part? It’s machine-washable.

“I’ve had it for a few months now, and it’s been soft, fluffy, and warm (but not too warm),” explained one reviewer. “The duvet cover I meant to buy it for is still a project that I haven’t finished, so it was still completely unprotected when my cat decided to cough up a hairball on my beautiful white, soft, fluffy comforter.” (Uh-oh.)

One reviewer replacing his more expensive down comforter admitted that he was apprehensive about the quality. “After using this for the past 12 months I can say without hesitation that for thirty bucks this is an absolutely incredible deal! It’s extremely fluffy, very large and very warm, yet breathable.”

Another reviewer wishes she could spend as much time with her comforter as possible, which she found to offer warmth without making her feel weighed down. “Just sitting on this comforter when I’m putting my socks on is a pampered treat,” she said. “If you guys make a robe like this, let me know. I’ll buy them for my whole family whether they wear a robe or not!”
