We love animal prints, but we don't like to be hit over the head with them. Our two rules for using animal prints in a subtle, not-so-trendy fashion: 1) Avoid the zebra rug; 2) Use only one print on one item in the room. Here are examples of rooms with just one animal printed item &mdash plus, animal-print décor options for your room.

Traditional Home

Pillow from West Elm

Traditional Home

Bedding from Williams-Sonoma Home

Kelly Wearstler's bedroom in Vogue

Prints of animals add animal prints without it having to be on a towel or rug, from Sharon Montrose

Print from ZGallerie

One accent piece in an animal print can make a big statement, such as this giraffe bath math from Pottery Barn

The Izzy Collection from Missoni Home has towels reminiscent of zebra prints, but not exactly the same thing. At Unica Home

This Zebra balsa wall hanging from Velocity Art & Design is another way to get an animal print in a room.
