Online eco magazines have been popping up all over the place lately. First we wrote about Pure Green Living in July, and now there's a new publication from interior designer Kelly LaPlante. Standard magazine encapsulates LaPlante's view that "green is a standard, not a style." With a manifesto that says that "design should be captivating, timeless, built to last and, of course, produced in a way that honors people and the planet," we can't help but get behind this new venture.
Don't expect to find all the eco buzzwords ("eco-friendly, fsc-certified, non-toxic, energy-efficient, recyclable...") in their pages; just know that all everything featured is one or more of those things. That is, after all, their standard. Featuring interviews (lighting designer Graypants is highlighted in the current issue), product guides, trend predictors, neighborhood profiles, and home tours, this is one publication we'll definitely keep bookmarked for future inspiration.
