Ant Farms as Artwork

Usually we try and come up with green ways to rid ants from our homes but a BKLYN Design exhibitor had a different idea—bring them into your home as art! The FRAMEicarium is a larger than life ant farm designed to rid your home of boring walls.

This science-experiment turned art was designed by Hugh Hayden and Katie Vitale for BKLYN Designs, and uses a salvaged photo frame to display real-life ant-farms. The name, FRAMEicarium, comes from the word formicarium or ant farm. Plexiglas is wedged between the frame and punctured to allow for air and feeding holes.
